I have to admit that I was a little bummed when I learned on Friday that the Instagram Weekend Hashtag Project was to take photographs of people jumping: #WHPinstajump.  I just thought it wouldn’t be much fun and I couldn’t think of an out-of-the-box approach, the project was so specific: “people jumping.”  Well, I was wrong…as you can see by my (our) first attempt above.  As you know, I spent the weekend in Palm Springs with a few of my sisters, my sister Liz took this shot by the Riviera pool.  It was my first jump and her first attempt, and I love it.

As it turns out, not only do jump shots make you laugh and smile when you look at them but they are really fun to take too!  The shot above was taken at Parker in Palm Springs yesterday after my sisters and I finished brunch at Norma’s.  I laugh every time I look at it!

To see the selected photographs and laugh at the nearly 7,000 others, check out the Instagram blog link above.

Wishing you lots of love, lust & butterflies this week!

Come in really close, I have a secret to tell you…I’m Jonathan Adler’s girlfriend!  It’s such a big secret that he doesn’t even know.  I feel like with the amount of time I spend “stalking” him, pouring through his Musings blog and adoring (by snapping a hideous amount of photos of everything Adler) everything he touches that I SHOULD be his girlfriend.  At the very least I should be considered one of his biggest fans.

The list of Adler things I crush on is never-ending but today, in Palm Springs, I am crushing, swooning, and madly, madly, madly in-love with the mirror hanging outside of Norma’s at Parker.  (One of my most favorite places to stop AND stay in Palm Springs! And not just because the entire hotel is designed by my BF…)

I’m on an obsessed, crazy woman, mad hunt for a mirror like this for above my fireplace in the Lito.  Like many things at the Parker this mirror is vintage, 1972 to be exact.  I’m even considering making something similar myself…or just asking my BF if I can have this one…

Hands down my two most favorite breakfast things are eggs benedict and Bloody Mary’s, and if I can get them together then I’m a happy, happy girl with the perfect start to my day!

The very best eggs benedict in the entire Universe is moments from my place in Sausalito, bike-able actually, and you can gaze at the Golden Gate Bridge while you are inhaling it.  The chefs at Murray’s Circle at Cavallo Point have mastered the eggs bennie in my opinion.

What makes this eggs bennie so good?  The flaky, homemade biscuits that the perfectly poached eggs rest on, the real-deal hollandaise sauce that you want to drink straight and the buttery hashbrown that’s served with it.  Is your mouth-watering yet?

The Bloody at Murray’s isn’t bad but the best Bloody in my opinion can be found much farther from my place in the Lito, and right smack in the middle of the desert in Palm Springs – at Norma’s in the Parker.

Why is this Bloody so good?  Mostly because it’s made with Pearl Cucumber Vodka but also because it’s blended with salt, pepper, horseradish sauce and tomato juice – and I’m also convinced that it tastes better because it’s served with a garden of garnish and in the Adler designed dining room!
